James is a Solicitor in the London office with experience advising professional clients and their insurers on the commercial resolution of disputes in both the UK and Internationally.
James regularly represents financial risk clients including Directors and Officers, Solicitors, IFA’s, Surveyors and Brokers. James also regularly acts on behalf of construction professionals including: Developers, Engineers, Architects and M & E Contractors. James has experience of advising clients through a variety of pre-action, litigated and multi-party disputes and has a background in advising insurers on policy coverage issues.
Notable cases –
- Successfully advised in the recovery of $505,000 USD from a Malaysian bank which was misappropriated by fraudsters who penetrated a company’s internal systems and re-directed payments to their own accounts.
- Successfully defended a firm of solicitors against a litigated negligence action arising out of an investment in a commercial property development.
- Successfully obtained an adjournment to a bankruptcy petition on behalf of a client in the High Court (Insolvency and Companies List)
